Panathinaikos was better for the biggest part of the game at SEF, but the Greens didn’t manage to reach the victory, which went to Olympiacos with the final 68-65 for the Euroleague Top16 Day 14.

The hosts got the lead first (6-0 3’41”, 10-3 5’23”), while Panathinaikos made its first shot with Antonis Fotsis behind the arc (6-3, 4’30”). Mike Batiste was the one to tie the game (10-10, 7’45”) and gave the first lead to the Greens (10-12, 8’10”). The clover used a 10-0 to get to 10-13 (8’48”), while Roko Leni Ukic with a three point shot made a 4 point game (12-16, only for Mike Bramos to lead to +7 (12-19, 10’20”). Olympiacos cut the lead to 4 points (17-21, 12’15”), but Panathinaikos was there to give answers with Loukas Mavrokefalidis, Wright and Curry, leading all the way to a double digit margin (19-29, 15′). Mat Lojeski tried to respond (26-31, 18′). Mavrokefalidis was the one leading the greens (26-35, 19′), while Fotsis led all the way to +11 (26-37, 19’47”), before Stratos Perperoglou made it 29-37 for the half time.

Jonas Maciulis took the leading role in the first minutes of the second half, when Panathinaikos led by 12 (29-41, 23’50”). At the same time Stephane Lasme was committing his third foul (23’30”). Greens seemed to be without balance over the next minutes, hosts used a 13-0 to get within one point (42-41, 28′). Mavrokefalidis was there for Panathinaikos once more. James Gist was the one to make it 46-54 (31’27”), hosts tried to get closer (50-54, 33′), but the Greens seemed to have the answers (50-58 33’50”, 53-60 35’45”, 56-62 36’04”). Kostas Sloukas tied the game (63-63, 39′), Mavrokefalidis dunked the ball (65-65) with 4”7 on the clock, with the hosts scoring behind the arc for a three point lead (68-65). Panathinaikos didn’t take advantage of this one second to the end and the hosts celebrated the win.
