Panathinaikos edged Rethymno 76-61 at OAKA for Basket League OPAP, Day 25.

Greens was focused, serious and ready to fight since the tip off. The combinations of all these gave them a lead by 9 points (15-6, 5’10” and 17-8, 6′). Panathinaikos didn’t follow its own leads. Rethymno after a 12-0 led the game by 3 (17-20 9′, 21-24 12’15”). Antonis Fotsis tied the game (24-24, 12’45”) and he was the one to give the lead back to Greens (27-26, 15’08”) . Pappas and Diamantidis with 2/4 free throws led to 29-26 (16′), before yet another tie (31-31, 17’24”). The captain was right on target behind the arc, then he passed to Lasme, while Pappas stole the ball and to 38-32 at half time.

The game was tied again (40-40, 21’35”), Rethymno moved pass Panathinaikos (40-46, 24′), but the Greens were there and got the lead again with a 8-0 (48-46, 24’30”). The clover got to +7 points behind two three point shots by Diamantidis (56-49, 28′). Rethymno cut the lead (56-52 30′, 58-54 31’30”). Panathinaikos moved to a double digit margin for the first time in the game (64-54, 35′), got all the way to +17 (74-57, 38’50”), before the final 76-61.
