For years, Panathinaikos BC AKTOR has been targeted because it brings to light the unbelievable events taking place in Greek basketball under the presidency of Mr. Evangelos Liolios. Yesterday, this was proven beyond any doubt through the evidence that began to emerge during the press conference of Maroussi BC Chery, and most importantly through the club’s official complaint to all competent authorities, showing that Greek basketball has been turned into a shadow theatre where the president of the Hellenic Basketball Federation pulls the strings.

According to his own messages — which he has not denied, despite his awkward statements — it is evident that he knew which referees would officiate league games two days before their official appointment by the Central Refereeing Committee (KED) and their public announcement. This raises serious questions about the role of the Central Refereeing Committee, given that it is obvious the supposed appointments were already known to the most powerful figure in the Hellenic Basketball Federation before they were even made.

In short, a system has been created that favors those who support him and disadvantages those who oppose him.

Among the latter is — of course — Panathinaikos BC AKTOR, which has been blatantly wronged by specific referees who were even appointed to officiate championship finals.

Among the teams benefiting from this system is — naturally — Promitheas Patras. As clearly demonstrated by Mr. Liolios’ own messages, in addition to being president of the Hellenic Basketball Federation, he is also the one making decisions on behalf of Promitheas Patras, effectively acting as the club’s owner. This constitutes unfair competition and renders him ILLEGAL and SUBJECT TO REMOVAL. It is crystal clear from these conversations that Mr. Liolios was acting as the ultimate “boss” of Promitheas Patras, negotiating player transfers and sales to other teams.

The official complaint of Maroussi BC Chery, along with all supporting evidence, has already been submitted to all competent authorities, who are now reviewing it swiftly. No one can claim ignorance anymore. Everyone now knows — and there is proof.

It is evident that, following these new revelations, Mr. Evangelos Liolios cannot remain in his position as president of the Hellenic Basketball Federation for even a moment longer.

There are now only two options for him: either to RESIGN or to be REMOVED from his position as president of the Hellenic Basketball Federation.
