EA7 Emporio Armani Milan started the game stronger and went ahead 15–9 by the 4th minute, with Panathinaikos BC AKTOR cutting the margin to 15–14 one minute later. The Greens took the lead 17–15 in the 6th minute and extended it to 23–15 in the 8th, but the hosts closed the gap to 23–21 in the 9th minute. The quarter ended with the Greens in front 26–21, and by the 11th minute the visitors had built a 29–21 lead.

The Italian side responded with a 7–0 run to make it 29–27 in the 12th minute, and tied the game at 31–31 in the 13th. Ataman: “We completely lost our defensive balance”

The head coach of Panathinaikos BC AKTOR, Ergin Ataman, stated the following during the post-game Press Conference after the road matchup against EA7 Emporio Armani Milan:

“Armani played exceptionally tonight. After the first quarter, we completely lost our defensive balance, especially with Brooks’ baskets — he played an outstanding game. Honestly, in the second and third quarters, over 20 minutes, they outscored us by 31 points. The last quarter didn’t matter. They controlled the game; congratulations to them. Unfortunately, we showed that we are not such a great team to consider ourselves among the favorites of the EuroLeague, because we did not manage to stop Armani, who played tremendous offensive basketball.”
