Panathinaikos BC AKTOR was defeated on the road by FC Bayern Munich, 85–78, in a game for Round 22 of the EuroLeague regular season.

Panathinaikos BC AKTOR opened the game with a 4–0 run, but the hosts responded with a 9–0 streak of their own to make it 9–4 at the 3-minute mark. In the following minute, the Greens regained the lead at 13–11 and extended it to 16–11 at 5’. Bayern Munich cut the deficit to 20–18 at 8’ and equalized at 22–22 in the 9th minute.

The first quarter ended with the hosts leading 25–24, before Panathinaikos went back in front at 27–25 in the 12th minute. Midway through the second period, the score was 33–29 for Panathinaikos BC AKTOR, who then built a nine-point advantage at 38–29 in the 16th minute. The German side closed the gap to 38–35 at 18’, with the first half ending at 43–40 in favor of the Greens.

At 23’, Panathinaikos BC AKTOR made it 49–44, but FC Bayern Munich responded immediately, cutting it to 49–47. Still, Panathinaikos BC AKTOR managed to pull away again, leading 55–49 at 26’ and 58–51 at 28’. Once more, the hosts came back, narrowing the score to 61–58 at 29’, while the end of the third quarter found the Greens ahead 64–58.

FC Bayern Munich reduced the deficit to one point (66–65) at 32’ and took the lead a minute later at 67–66. At 35’, the German team went up 73–70, with Panathinaikos BC AKTOR answering to make it 75–74 at 37’. FC Bayern Munich then took control once again, extending the lead to 79–74 with less than two minutes remaining and eventually secured the win, 85–78.

“We played well for the first three quarters, moved the ball and were good on defense. In the fourth quarter we made mistakes defensively and lost everything on offense. Dimitrijevic, Jessup and Obst found their rhythm and we lost the game.”
