Nikos Rogkavopoulos expressed his excitement at becoming a member of the Panathinaikos AKTOR family in his first official statements as a player of the club.

Speaking to paobc, he discussed the reasons behind his decision to wear the green jersey and the goals he aims to achieve with Panathinaikos.

“I am extremely happy to have the opportunity to play for a great Club with a rich history, one that competes for every title each year. This is a tremendous opportunity for me, and I am determined to work hard in order to contribute as much as I can to Panathinaikos,” he initially stated.

When asked about the key reasons behind his decision to join Panathinaikos AKTOR, he responded:

“From the very first moment, I felt the respect shown to me by the people at Panathinaikos. I could sense how much they wanted me to join the team, and that made me want to come even more. It was a great honor for me. Beyond the size and history of the Club, the fans—who are always there to support the team—also played a major role in my decision.”

Rogkavopoulos has played at OAKA several times as an opponent of Panathinaikos AKTOR, but things will be different for him this coming season:

“I look forward to playing in a packed OAKA with Panathinaikos fans on my side. I have competed there many times as an opponent, but now it will be completely different. I can’t wait to experience that unique atmosphere as a Panathinaikos player,” he commented.

As for what the fans should expect from him, he noted:

“They should expect to see a player who gives 100% every minute he is on the court, bringing energy and intensity on both ends of the floor.”

The 24-year-old forward is eager to work with Ergin Ataman and his new teammates, making special mention of Kostas Sloukas and Kendrick Nunn:

“Ergin Ataman has won three of the last five EuroLeague titles, with one of the two remaining seasons being interrupted. He is a tremendous coach. I am excited to work with him and to earn his trust through hard work,” he said, adding: “I am also very happy to be joining such talented teammates. Panathinaikos has an excellent roster full of quality. Kendrick Nunn and Kostas Sloukas are the leaders of this team, surrounded by players of the highest level. I can’t wait for us to begin working together.”

Finally, regarding both his personal ambitions and the collective goals he hopes to achieve with Panathinaikos AKTOR, he stated:

“Panathinaikos has always had the same goal: to compete for every title. That’s what the fans want, and it’s clearly reflected by the moves the president is making to strengthen the team.
As for my personal goal, it is to work hard every single day in training so I can help the team succeed. I hope we all stay healthy—if we do, I believe everything else will follow.”
