The game started evenly, with the hosts taking a slight four-point lead (10–6 at 4’) before the Greens tied it at 12–12 in the 5th minute. A minute later, the Turkish team went ahead 17–12, but by the 7th minute, Panathinaikos BC AKTOR had taken the lead 19–18 and closed the first quarter up 22–21.

Panathinaikos BC AKTOR extended its lead to 30–23 in the 11th minute, with Anadolu Efes cutting it to 30–26 in the 14th. Shortly after, a three-point play by Shorts (90–73) gave Ergin Ataman’s team even more breathing room, as Panathinaikos BC AKTOR sealed a commanding 95–81 victory in Istanbul.
