Vassilis Toliopoulos Joins Panathinaikos AKTOR

Panathinaikos BC AKTOR is pleased to announce the signing of Vassilis Toliopoulos on a three-year contract.
Vassilis Toliopoulos was born on June 15, 1996, in Athens. He stands at 1.88m and plays both point guard and shooting guard positions.
He began his basketball journey with the youth teams of Panionios before moving to Ikaros Kallitheas, where he launched his professional career. He spent the 2013–14 season with the club before joining Kolossos Rhodes the following year.
From 2015 to mid-season 2018–19, he played for Olympiacos, with whom he celebrated a Greek Basket League championship title in 2016. In the second half of the 2018–19 season, he joined Aris.
In the summer of 2019, he signed with AEK, winning the Greek Cup in Crete. During the 2020–21 season, he was loaned to Ionikos Nikaias, delivering the most productive season of his career at the time, averaging 11.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.
In the 2021–22 season, he returned to Thessaloniki to play for PAOK, averaging 6.3 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 2 assists during the Greek Basket League regular season. The 2022–23 season saw him return to Aris for a second stint, before concluding that campaign with Boulazac Basket Dordogne in France.
In the summer of 2023, he returned to Aris for a third tenure, achieving the best performances of his career to date with averages of 13.5 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 4.4 assists in the Greek Basket League, along with 14.4 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in the EuroCup. His impressive performance that season earned him the title of “Most Improved Player” in the Greek Basket League.
During the 2024–25 season, he averaged 15.3 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game in the Stoiximan GBL, while in the EuroCup he posted 13.7 points, 2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1 steal per game.
Toliopoulos has been a member of all junior national teams of Greece, representing the country from 2012 to 2016 with the U16, U18, and U20 squads. With the U20 national team, he won a bronze medal at the FIBA U20 European Championship Division B in Chalkida in 2016. A year earlier, in 2015, he had reached fourth place in the FIBA U19 World Cup held in Crete with the U18 national team.
In February 2021, he made his debut with the Greek senior national team during the FIBA qualifying “windows” against Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since then, he has been a consistent member of the national squad and was part of the team that competed in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
