Maciulis stays on for the Greens

Panathinaikos added yet another critical piece in next season’s puzzle and maintained yet another basic element of its backbone which assisted it in making it all the way up to perform a sweep in Basket League OPAP Finals’ series. Jonas Maciulis shook hands on a contract with the clover and will be competing, wearing the Panathinaikos jersey through the next two seasons.

The Lithuanian forward (1.98m, February 10, 1985) was one of the main factors in Panathinaikos’ stride through a transactional period, one to end in the best possible fashion.

Who he is

Maciulis was born in Kaunas and competed for Zalgiris until 2004. Next stop was Nevezis Kedainiai (2004-05), then on to Zalgiris Kaunas (2005-09), Olimpia Milano (2009-11), Baltai Kaunas (2012), Mens Sana Basket Siena (2012). He came to an agreement last summer with Panathinaikos and at the season finale had been crowned Greek Cup Champion on his birthday and then Greek League Champion earlier this summer. He has furthermore conquered both Lithuanian Cup and League (2007,2008), the Baltic League (2008), has been named Italian League Champion competing for Montepaschi Siena (2012). He has also reached accomplishments with the Lithuanian NT, of which he is a part: Bronze medal at the 2010 World Championship, Bronze medal at the 2007 Eurobasket, Gold medal at the Men’s U21 World Championship, Silver medal at the Men’s U18 World Championship (2003), Silver Medal at the Men’s U20 European Championship (2006), Bronze medal at the Men’s U20 European Championship (2004).
