Pitino: “Madrid played great and obviously deserved the victory”

The head coach of Panathinaikos OPAP, Rick Pitino stated after the end of the game against Real Madrid: "Madrid played great and obviously deserved the victory. They shot it great, and we let our poor shooting dictate our defense. You can’t win that way. Game 1 was ours and we let it slip away, and Game 2 they totally outplayed us in every phase of the game. We go back to Greece down 0-2, not a good situation, but we dug ourselves in a hole in Game 1. Facundo Campazzo is a tough little kid. On one play our power forward went up with him for a loose ball off a rebound, and he came up with the ball. I don’t know how tall he is, 5’8’’ or 5’9’’, but he came up with a ball over a 6’7’’ 6’8’’ guy. He is a tough guy, plays hard, plays smart, very good pick and roll guy, and his effort is terrific".
... Panathinaikos became the only team in the history of European basketball who wins titles in 24 consecutive years?
