Former Teams: GE Verias (1993-95), Filippos Verias (1995-97), Grindavik/Iceland (1997-98), Near East (1998-2000), Peristeri (2000-02)

With Panathinaikos since: 2002

After Fragiskos Alvertis’ farewell he is as of now the longest-running player on the Panathinaikos roster. Kostas Tsartsaris came to the Panathinaikos’ barracks from Peristeri back in 2002, to bring along multiple solutions both close and far from the basket, an invaluable cog of the team’s engine on its way to absolute recognition. Standing at 2.09, he can charge in the paint, but it is just as easy for him to from chase after a peripheral player beyond the arc or shoot a 3-pointer. A player who can do whatever the team requires, depending on the needs of each game. His ability to come out and mark even the guards in rotation makes him an absolutely useful tool, essential to the way that Panathinaikos likes to play. His experience has helped improve and master all these elements, so that he can pull them out of his armamentarium easily in each game. Since he first wore the Panathinaikos jersey to this very day he has not lost a single HEBA Championship title; he only saw two Greek Cup slip his grasp, but has twice celebrated a triple crown. Not bad for a boy who began his sporting career as a handball player in home-town Veria, became known in the basketball world through Iceland and turned into a household name with Panathinaikos.
