Today, Panathinaikos are flying to Munich to play Bayern tomorrow night in the round 2 match of the Euroleague regular season.
Janis Blums’ words before the team’s departure for Germany: “Bayern is a very good and tough team. In every minute of the match we must be totally concentrated. In Barcelona they played excellently. We are prepared for a very strong match and we must be concentrated for 40 minutes. It is an important match. We will do our best for the win.”
Asked about the team’s heavy schedule, the Latvian guard answered: “It is true that we have a heavy schedule. After Turow we traveled to the island Rhodes for a difficult game against Kolossos. We did not have much time at our disposal, but we are properly prepared. Yesterday, we trained and watched videos. We know we are going to play a very good team, so we have to stay focused all over the match.”
Charalambopoulos: “Passion Is the Key”
Vassilis Charalambopoulos noted: “Bayern is a very good team with quality players who play very well at home. Our mission is going to be difficult. We must play with passion and concentration from the beginning until the end in order to make it. Each Euroleague match is different. It is good for us that my teammates have come back from their injuries –– we expect from ourselves to be better against Bayern than against Turow.”
