Agreement with Maciulis

Panathinaikos and Jonas Maciulis shook hands on an agreement for the 2012-13 competition season.

Jonas Maciulis (2m, forward) was born on February 10, 1985 in Kaunas. His career began in the second category of the Lithuanian league, as he competed for LKKA Zalgiris Kaunas. His professional debut was made in 2004 and Nevezis (2004-05), where he competed behind 13.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Next up, Zalgiris Kaunas (2005-09) team with which he managed to conquer the Baltic League (2008), the Lithuanian League Championship (2007, 2008) and the Lithuanian Cup (2007-08). On April 8, 2009 he committed a Lithuanian League three-pointer record, draining 8 consecutive triples. Next step in his career was Armani Jeans Milano (2009-11), while in January 2012, having overcome an injury he signed on to Lithuanian team Baltai, drilling 16 points on the night of his first appearance in the team’s jersey. In April of the same year he moved back to Italy, this time round for Montepaschi Siena.

Parallel to his club career, he also competed in the Lithuanian national teams. With the U-21 team he nailed the World Championship in Argentina (2005), snatched the silver medal in the U-20 2005 European Championship (Russia), whereas with the Men’s team he won bronze medal at the 2010 World Championship (Turkey) and came up as champ at the 2007 Eurobasket (Spain).
