Departure for Karpenissi

On Saturday (23/8) morning Panathinaikos departed for Karpenissi, Central Greece, with players and coaches being eager to do some hard work during the main phase of the preparation period, which will last until September 3. The renewed 2014-2015 Panathinaikos will be based on many Greek players.

The Greens are expected to sweat during their preparation under the instructions of assistant coaches Sotiris Manolopoulos and Josep Berrocal, since Dusko Ivanovic is with the Bosnia and Herzegovina Men’s National Basketball Team and will join Panathinaikos after their return from Karpenissi.

Eleven players traveled to Karpenissi: Dimitris Diamantidis, Antonis Fotsis, Nikos Pappas, Lefteris Bochoridis, Yorgos Diamantakos, DeMarcus Nelson, Esteban Batista, A. J. Slaughter, Yorgos Papayannis, Antonis Koniaris and Alexis Spanos who does not belong to the club, but will take part in the training sessions during the preparation period.

Loukas Mavrokefalidis will be in Karpenissi on Sunday (24/8) due to personal reasons. The Clover’s center trained on Saturday early in the morning at OAKA under the instructions of the team’s fitness coach. From tomorrow on he will follow the normal training schedule. On Tuesday (26/8) Vassilis Charalambopoulos will join the team, with Vladimir Jankovic being the next to arrive in Karpenissi on Wednesday (27/8).
