Charalampopoulos, a young prospect for Panathinaikos

Vassilis Charalampopoulos is the new acquisition of Panathinaikos. He was born on January the 6th, 1997 and he was playing in Egaleo. Last year he played at the U16 National Team, being just 14 years old, while he played at the U16 European Championship this year too. He is 2m02, forward, left handed and he is considered to be one of the biggest talents in Greek and European basketball.

The fifteen years old “green” played stated: “I am very happy. I don’t think that there is another word to describe how I feel. I am in the best team of Europe. What else could I ask? It’s a challenge… More than anything it’s a challenge to work harder, to spend more hours in the gym. It’s something that I could only wish for. I didn’t expect it to happen so soon, but it’s something that doesn’t stress me. The most important is to keep my feet on the ground and to work a lot. The fact that I will get to be next to a player like Dimitris Diamantidis, the fact that I will be able to work next to him it’s something amazing itself. I don’t think that I have realized it yet. I want to thank Panathinaikos, but also my former team, Egaleo, because they helped me a lot from day one till today”.
