Curry: “Whatever I can for the team”

Ramel Curry arrived only a while ago at the “Eleftherios Venizelos” airport. The American guard was greeted by Fragiskos Alvertis. Curry stated happy to be in Athens only to add: “I will try to do the best for Panathinaikos. I know very well what Panathinaikos stands for, I know its history, its titles, that great players have competed on the squad and that it is a team that conquers trophies. I am not a man of many words so what I can promise is to give it my best in order for the team to achieve its goal. I understand that it is tough for a player to be incorporated into the team at this very moment in time, because the team has certainly already established its chemistry by now. I will try however to adapt as fast as possible and help out the best I can. I certainly view my presence in Panathinaikos as a step forward in my career. I can’t wait to get out on court with my teammates”.

When asked if he is more scorer or defender, since his having been named Euroleague top scorer (2012) and best defender in the Ukrainian league, Curry smiles: “I don’t know… It is something that will shift from game to game. I will do whatever I can for the team, anything requesting from me by the coach. I am ready to do both”.
