Papapetrou Is Back!

Panathinaikos BC has signed Ioannis Papapetrou (29, 2.07 meters) for the next 2-years.

Papapetrou is a basketball player, born on March 30, 1994, in Patras, Greece. He is a small forward who last played for Partizan Belgrade.

He grew up with Ilysiakos Athens (Greece) juniors and played high-school basketball at Florida Air academy…

Papapetrou played college basketball at University of Texas (2012-13) and he came back to Greece for the 2013-14 season, signed by Olympiacos Piraeus...

Ioannis won the 2014-15 and 2015-16 Greek National Championship with Olympiacos Piraeus.

On July 10, 2018, Papapetrou signed with Panathinaikos. In his four seasons with the Greens, Papapetrou has helped Panathinaikos win three consecutive Greek League titles (2019, 2020, 2021), and also lifted the Greek Cup trophy in 2019 and 2021.

On July 19, 2022, Papapetrou signed a one-year contract with Partizan and he won the 2022-2023 ABA League with the Serbian club.

He is also member of the Greek National Team and played at the 2017 European Championship... Papapetrou has been member of the Greek U-16, U-18 and U-20 National Team. He played at the 2009 and 2010 European U-16 Championships and at the 2013 European U-20 Championship. He is also a member of the senior men's Greek national basketball team. He was selected to Greece's 12 man roster for the 2016 Turin FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament. He also played Played at the 2017 and 2022 European Championships, and at the 2019 FIBA World Cup.
