Panathinaikos continued its roll as it shrugged off the strongest defense in the league with a 90-73 blowout of Valencia for a fourth straight victory.
The Greens led by 22 points but watched Valencia trim the gap to 9 points in the fourth quarter. Panathinaikos showed its mettle by finishing the game in style and winning without question and moving to 6-4.
Mathias Lessort was outstanding with 17 points and 7 rebounds as one of five Panathinaikos scorers in double figures. Dinos Mitoglou scored 14 points, Jerian Grant had 13, Kostas Sloukas tallied 12 points and 9 assists and Marius Grigonis chipped in 11 points.
Valencia made the tough comeback but just didn’t have the scoring punch - or the defense - to finish the deal. The Spanish side has lost four straight games and is now 5-5 following a 5-1 start to the season.
Semi Ojeleye was the only Valencia scorer in double figures with 16 points while Chris Jones had 8 points and 10 assists.
