AS Monaco – Panathinaikos BC AKTOR 90-91

Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens grabbed a memorable road victory at AS Monaco, 90-91, as Marius Grigonis sank a game-winning triple on the final buzzer. Elie Okobo’s mid-range jumper with a foul with 2.5 seconds left appeared to have won it for Monaco, but his deliberately missed free throw failed to touch the rim, allowing the Greens to stop the clock and set up the Grigonis game-winner.

It was a remarkable comeback for the Greek giant, which trailed by as many as 15 points and by 10 with less than 5 minutes remaining, but never said die mostly thanks to Kendrick Nunn, who netted 13 of his 14 points in the final quarter.

Grigonis totalled 15 points on 3-of-5 three-point shooting for the winning team, which scored 35 points in the fourth period. Kostas Sloukas top scored with 17 points, Mathias Lessort had 16, while Dinos Mitoglou provided 12 points, 7 rebounds and the game-winning assist to Grigonis.

Alpha Diallo led Monaco with 17 points, with Mike James providing 16 points and 6 assists, and Kemba Walker chipping in with a season-high 13 points. The outcome leaves the teams tied on 8-7, part of a five-way tie for sixth place.
