Pedoulakis: “Double target”

Argyris Pedoulakis spoke of exhaustion and time shared out in the clash versus Aris, in order to establish the necessary breathers for certain players.

“We were aiming towards a double target today… to win and share out the time as best possible amongst the players in order to offer rest to certain guys. We have also received the results from the exams which the players recently underwent and certain players had to be protected. We instrumented team spirit something more than obvious if one sees the assists we accumulated, good mood… We lost our pace in third quarter but up to a certain point it is only natural. Teams competing in Euroleague are somewhat worn out at the moment and it is something that shows up in certain strange results. The guys are exhausted, injuries exist. You must be physically and mentally focused and it is not easy. We reacted nevertheless in the fourth quarter. Congratulations to Vangelis (Angelou) for the entire job that is being done, because Aris is a more disciplined team and it has a goal on the court”.

Aris Head Coach, Vangelis Angelou, stated: “Congratulations to Panathinaikos and strength to Argyris for the effort he is inputting which is an honest one. For our team I must say that the manner in which we performed and the loss were a disgrace. We give our battle, represent a team, try to bring fans to the court and all we request from our players is competitiveness and reaction. Today was as if we didn’t even exist on the court. It was a parody of a game for us, disgrace for the way we all faced it, me from the bench and the players too. This team cannot continue playing like this, committing two steps forward and 10 steps back. We were facing a team which gets worn out by Euroleague and its focus is not on the Greek League. Yourequest reaction and explosion. It is a disgrace. We must seriously think if we can play basketball wearing this jersey or if we should take the team logo of it. I am ashamed and I had not expected to see such an image today; all the best to Panathinaikos next and to Argyris”.

Gaios Skordilis stressed: “We were coming from a home loss in Euroleague. We wanted to get to a physiological boost win in view of the game to come. It was a good opportunity for coach to try out some things in defense and offense for the ensuing season in both Europe and Greece”.

Muhamed Pasalic stated: “I would like to congratulate Panathinaikos for a good game and the win. Today we failed to execute all we had said the last few days during our preparation. We found ourselves trailing by 14 but we did not give up however, we tried our best in third quarter, picked up the slack to 6 points but then allowed the score to escape our grasp once more next. I hope that this game will teach us a lesson for our next encounter versus Rethymno, a tough clash in which we want to win. We have time to prepare and I hope we learned something after today, not to go so laid back, to be tougher on the court and have our fans by our side”.
