Pat Calathes: One giant family

Panathinaikos faces Astana in the third preseason game. Panathinaikos will also meet a really familiar face in Pat Calathes. Calathes played for the clover the season 2011-12. And now he returns to OAKA as an opponent; But always as a friend.

-How do you feel coming back in Greece?

"It's nice to come back and see everything. Spending 4 years there it almost feels like my home away from home in Europe."

-Is it strange for you to play against Panathinaikos?

"I spent most of my time playing against Panathinaikos rather than for it so it will probably feel more normal to me than not. Definitely looking forward to playing against Mike and Mitsos... That'll be fun!"

-What did you miss the most from Athens and the team?

"The thing I missed the most from playing with Panathinaikos was probably just the closeness of the players and their families together. Everyone was like one giant family. It was really nice."

-What about your new life in a new country? Are you adapting?

"So far it's really nice in Astana. Everything is very modern, gym is great, there are a lot of things to do, I'm really happy with my decision so far to come play here."

-What are the goals of your team...

"After playing with the guys here I definitely feel like we have a lot of talent on the team. For now I feel like our goal is the Final 4 of the VTB League and I definitely feel like that's possible."
